Statement is social media backed by proof. This page covers how it works, how we keep your data safe, and why we built it this way. If you don't find what you're looking for, get in touch.
Statement is a social app where every post is backed by a real bank transaction. You connect your bank, pick a transaction, and share it - with proof attached. No fake reviews. No sponsored posts pretending to be real. Just people sharing what they actually did, with receipts.
Download the app, sign up with your email, and you're in. You can browse the feed and see what people are sharing right away. When you're ready to post, connect a bank account and make your first Statement.
Yes. Free to join, free to use. No subscriptions, no paywalls, no hidden fees. We make money from brands who want to manage their presence on Statement - never from you.
It means sharing something that actually happened. You pick a real transaction - a restaurant, a product, a trip, a donation - add your take, and post it. It goes live with proof attached. That's a Statement.
Props are how you show someone you rate their Statement. Think of it like a like, but with more weight - because the post behind it is real. You can give Props to any Statement in your feed.
Your Vault is your personal archive of every Statement you've made. It's your verified history - searchable, shareable, and entirely yours. Think of it as your verified track record, built on real activity.
The map shows you where people are spending - real places, verified by real transactions. You can discover restaurants, shops, and experiences near you based on what people actually bought, not what an algorithm wants you to see.
The leaderboard recognizes people who show up, not people who show off. Your position is based on activity - making Statements, giving Props, discovering new places - not follower count or how much you spend.
Because proof is the whole point. Every Statement is backed by a real transaction, and that means connecting your bank. We use Plaid (US) and Yapily (UK) - the same service used by Venmo, Robinhood, and thousands of other apps - to verify your transactions. It's read-only. We never see your login and we never touch your money.
Transaction details only - the merchant name, the amount, and the date. We never see your balance. We never see your full account number. We never have access to move money. You choose which transactions to share. Everything else stays private.
Yes. We don't store your bank login - not now, not ever. Your connection runs through Plaid (US) / Yapily (UK), which uses bank-level encryption. Your transaction data is encrypted at rest and in transit. We built Statement on trust, and that starts with how we handle your data.
Yes, anytime. Go to Settings, tap Your Linked Accounts, and unlink. Your existing Statements stay live, but no new transactions will come through. You can reconnect whenever you want. No questions asked.
Yes. Tap the three dots on any Statement you've posted and select Delete. It's gone. We don't keep a copy and it won't appear in anyone's feed.
Tap their profile, hit the three dots, and select Block or Report. Blocked users can't see your profile or your Statements. Reports go straight to our team and we take them seriously - this is a trust-first platform and we intend to keep it that way.
We delete it. Your profile, your Statements, your transaction history, your Vault - all removed. Your bank connection is severed through Plaid or Yapily. We don't keep your data after you leave.
Everything on Statement is real - and we can prove it. Every post is backed by a verified bank transaction. No bots. No fake reviews. No influencer smoke and mirrors. The feed is built on what people actually did, not what they want you to think they did.
You can create an account, browse the feed, give Props, and leave comments. But to make a Statement - to post - you'll need to connect at least one bank account or card. That's what makes this platform different. The proof is the product.
Yes. You can use a pseudonym and pick any handle you want. We verify your identity through your bank connection (because receipts matter), but your real name and financial details are never visible to other users. Your privacy is yours to control.
Yes. The amount is part of the proof - it's what makes a Statement real. Every post shows the merchant, the amount, and your take on it. That's the point. If you're not comfortable sharing a specific transaction, just don't post it. You choose which transactions become Statements. Nobody sees anything until you decide to share it.
Yes. When people make Statements about your brand, you show up. Businesses can claim their brand page on Statement to manage how they appear, respond to Statements, and see real engagement from verified customers. No bots, no fake followers - just real people who actually spent money with you. Interested? Get in touch.
Statement is currently available in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe. We're expanding - if you want to know when we launch in your market, sign up for updates.
